Age 4
Everly has a smile that will touch anyone’s heart. We look forward to continuing to learn with her and help her through anything and everything she is capable of doing. We hope she continues to show the world what true kindness means. We plan to continue to advocate for her and we will always be her biggest cheerleaders. She has two younger siblings so we plan to raise them to always help their sissy, remember to always spread kindness like wildflowers, and be accepting of everyone. Everly has taught us so much in the four years she’s been with us. She has taught us how strong we are capable of being, but she is definitely the strongest of us all. She has the endurance to withstand any difficult time. She has the resilience to keep pushing through obstacles. She is the one who is always incredibly happy, reminding you to smile. She always has open arms for a big hug at the exact time that you need one, reminding you that everything is going to be okay.
Everly loves her family and friends, Ariel from The Little Mermaid, music, dancing, singing, riding her tricycle from Ambucs, kisses and hugs, baths, being outside (when it’s not hot), her service dog (Mae), walking in her Kidwalk, spin toys, wrestling, looking out the front storm door, and riding in the car!
Everly’s family shares…
“At Everly’s PT facility, they have DIY parallel bars that Everly is supposed to hold onto with both hands and she walks along them with assistance. Rory made the same thing for us for Everly to use at our house. Everly tends to only hold onto them with both hands for a very short period of time despite our efforts. In May of this year (2024), Rory and I were outside with Everly practicing on the bars while her siblings napped. It was a beautiful, quiet spring day with just the birds chirping outside. We took turns. One of us would use her toy rings as motivation, and the other one would help her walk along. Rory decided to try and give her some extra independence and he slowly let go of her. She took a couple steps completely on her own holding on to the bars the whole time! We were not expecting it, which made it even more special. We teared up, of course. We were so proud of her! We ended up getting her doing it once more on video, however, she has not done it again since that day (completely on her own). That was such a special day for all of us.”
